SOAR Speakers

For the first part of SOAR, we will have several administrators speak to you about the role student organizations, as well as student leaders, play within the University of Chicago community. 

Michael Hayes

Assistant Vice President for Student Life

Mike serves as a senior student affairs leader for the University, and is responsible for implementing the vision and educational objectives of Campus and Student Life. Oversees and sets the strategic direction for the Center for Leadership and Involvement, the Office of International Affairs, the Center for Identity + Inclusion, and the Office of Event Services.

Shea Wolfe

Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students
and Associate Dean of Students in the University

Shea is responsible for the initial intake of student reports of sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.  She is also responsible for collaborating with campus partners to implement interim measures and/or accomodations when needed, providing all parties with information regarding support services (including the University's confidential resources and support services in the community), providing students with information regarding the University's investigation and disciplinary process, and providing students with information regarding the pursuit of criminal remedies.  She also works to assess, develop, and implement training programs geared toward students and those involved in the intake and resolution of student complaints, and coordinates tracking of student complaints across the University.

Sarah Cunningham

Sarah oversees the teams in the Center for Leadership and Involvement and the Office of Event Services.  She is responsible for ensuring there are rich co-curricular student opportunities available there are spaces for members of the community to come together to grow and learn.  Sarah also advises the Executive Committee of Student Government.
