Follow-up for RSO Leaders Regarding Autumn Quarter Announcement

With the University’s announcement regarding Autumn Quarter 2020 plans, we know there are likely questions about campus and RSO activities. The Center for Leadership and Involvement and the Office of Student Centers are working with other Campus and Student Life units in addition to monitoring public health guidance to develop best practices for maintaining a safe, educational, and vibrant UChicago experience for all students. More specific details will be shared here in the coming days and with RSO leaders directly. We appreciate your patience as we develop our recommendations for how RSOs can continue to engage with members during Autumn Quarter.

A Message from the Center for Leadership & Involvement

"As with many of you, the Center for Leadership and Involvement staff are saddened and angered by the continued violence against Black individuals of color in this country.  The deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, and Regis Korchinski-Paquet are just the most recent examples of that violence and the biases that are occurring each day..."

RSO Activities for Spring Quarter ‘20

RSOs are a vital part of the University community and play an important role in the lives of many students. The Center for Leadership & Involvement (CLI) staff are available to meet with you and your RSO leadership to discuss how your organization can continue to function and offer virtual programs during the Spring Quarter.  We know that maintaining social networks (even if done remotely) can help provide a sense of normalcy and valuable outlets for sharing feelings and relieving stress.
