Jimmy earned his undergraduate degree in Conservation Biology from the University of Maryland. After a little time working at the Biosphere 2 Center, he went on to receive his Master's in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan. He moved to Chicago in February 2012 to begin his work at UChicago. When not on campus, Jimmy enjoys trying out new recipes and exploring restaurants around the city. One of his favorite pastimes is finding new and/or oddly flavored snacks to bring for the CLI staff to try!

LaSabra joined CLI in November 2023. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, LaSabra earned her Bachelor's in Communications from The University of Tennessee (Go Vols!) and her Master's in Higher Education Administration from The University of Michigan (Go Blue!). When not on campus, LaSabra spends her time perusing local bookshops, buying oddly specific birthday presents, and volunteering with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Heather joined CLI in October of 2022. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Asian Languages & Cultures with a focus in Korean Studies from the University of Michigan College of Literature Science and the Arts in 2021, and received her Master’s of Management from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business in 2022. Heather enjoys all forms of media consumption whether that be scrolling on social media, indulging in certifiably bad films and TV shows or curating lengthy playlists for oddly specific moods.

Logan joined the CLI in August 2024. He is originally from North Carolina but is a mid-westerner at heart. A first-generation college student, he received his undergraduate degree in English Literature from Western Carolina University (Go Cats!) and his graduate degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis with a concentration in Higher Education from the University of Missouri (M-I-Z!). In his free time, Logan enjoys spending time with his family, running, camping, and going to the Shedd Aquarium.

Amie joined CLI in November 2022! Originally from Long Island, New York, Amie is a proud product of SUNY Suffolk County Community College, an active Phi Theta Kappa Alumni, and former International Officer for the organization. She earned both her bachelor's and master's from The University of Mississippi in Psychology/English and Higher Education/Student Personnel respectively. Her favorite book is the Perks of Being a Wallflower because it sparked her love of literature as an adolescent. She loves exploring new places and trying as many new restaurants as possible.

Lauren joined the CLI team June 2023. She earned her Bachelor's in Politics and Government from Illinois State University and received her Master's in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University. In her free time, Lauren loves discovering new TV shows and movies or doing service with her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. From Bolingbrook Illinois, Lauren is glad to be back in Illinois with friends and family.

Akari joined the University in 2019 and the CLI in March 2024. She is from Kyoto, Yokohama, Singapore and Michigan. She received her BA in Psych and Art from the Residential College of the University of Michigan and have dabbled in martial arts, Italian, equestrian, interpreting (Japanese-English), welding, farming, voice, guitar, violin, hang gliding, raising boys, butterflies and frogs. She follows Martin Seligman and Esther Perel's work

TJ joined CLI in the summer of 2022. He is from the Southside of Chicago, the first graduating class from The Chicago Highschool for Agricultural Sciences(CHSAS). His favorite book is The 5th horseman by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro. His favorite movie is American Gangster. He is a proud grandpa of 12 little ones and enjoys doing volunteer work through homeless shelters and rehab homes.

Daniela joined the Center for Leadership and Involvement in August of 2023. She was born and raised in Chicago! In her free time, Daniela enjoys arts and crafts, especially making things that involve Mexican culture. Her favorite movie is Bajo La Misma Luna (Under the Same Moon) which also ties into celebrating and loving her Mexican culture.
