Cheerio! I am from Canada, and aside from Peer Advising, I am on Undergraduate Student Government as Vice President - Advocacy, partake in all three parts of the MUNiverse, am on the fencing team, and host a podcast at the Maroon called The Gordian Knot where we ask international students to bring a first-hand perspective into the news, culture, and politics of their homes. I love water, languages, and taking too many photos. Come into the office for a chat, to hang out, or to sleep!

There is a word in Tagalog, "gigil", that describes an overwhelming and barely contained feeling of excitement, usually characterized by the joyful urge to squeeze something cute, or an immense reaction of anger. Describe the intersection of two very different emotions.

Hi! My name is Dani(ela). I was born and attended high school in Laredo, Texas…but live in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico (let’s go border kids). Outside of the SAC, I am involved in MUNUC, ChoMUN, and make jewelry for my small business ranita (with my roommate and co-worker Ro)(shameless plug). Working on the divinity school archetype, I like to read apocryphal gospels, analyze iconography, and answer my friend’s questions about Catholicism (I went hard on Conclave period). Come visit, and ask me about your RSO packages, even if I’m having my lunch from Noodles Etc.

The Muratorian Canon declared all books of the New Testament, minus Hebrews, James, 1 and 2 Peter and 3 John were the biblical canon. Eventually as time went on, other councils came up with the current biblical canon of today. If you could create or change the canon of any franchise (MCU, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc), what would it be?

I was born in Phoenix AZ, however, both of my parents immigrated to the US from Serbia, so I consider myself Serbian-American! I have a huge love for the Balkans: the culture, history, etc. But more generally, I love reading, exploring new music, and getting to know people! By far my fav study spot is Plein Air Cafe, but if not there, the stacks in the Reg are also great.

One of the crowning jewels of Chicago is the wonderful Art Institute of Chicago, which cycles through different temporary exhibitions dedicated to various artists (though most are created posthumously by an art curator). If you had the opportunity to curate an exhibit about yourself, what would it look like? What period of your life would it present? What objects would you include? What would be the flow of the room?

Hi my name is Santi. Even though I was born and raised in Cuenca-Ecuador, I spent my highschool days in Singapore. Right now I recreationally play table tennis (although used to do it professionally), I am part of BOLD and MUNIC as UChicago organisations; however, I am also volunteering at the Hyde Park Neighbourhood Club. My favourite show right now is "The Secret of the River," and it is hard to choose a favourite song, although Bad Bunny will definitely be my most liked artist. Lately, I have been reading "The Open Veins of Latin America" as I am deeply interested in the way in which the region has been influenced by outsiders. I extremely love traveling and have the goal to visit at least two new countries every year.

We always wonder if our major will strictly define the job in which we end up having for the rest of our days; however, many political scientists have become investment bankers, many physicists are now involved in politics and non-profits. Which do you think may be the most unexpected change in career and what skills from the major can be applied in this completely new job?
