The Uncommon LEADership Series is a comprehensive leadership development workshop series covering a diverse range of topics such as communication, decision-making, and team building. Designed for participants at all levels of leadership, these workshops offer practical insights and tools to navigate the complexities of leadership in today's dynamic environments.

The Leader I Thought I Had To Be

Thursday, October 15, 2026 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm | Student Activites Center (Reynolds Club - Lower Level Suite 001)

An interactive leadership workshop that invites students to question the assumptions and expectations they’ve inherited about what a “leader” is supposed to look and act like.

Through reflection, discussion, and interactive activities, students will explore how family, culture, school, media, and personal experiences have shaped their ideas about leadership. The workshop challenges the idea that leadership requires a title, position, extroversion, authority, or visibility, while helping students recognize the many different ways leadership can show up.

By the end, students will begin to redefine leadership on their own terms and identify what authentic leadership looks like for them.

• Visibility, identity, and who gets recognized as a leader
• Authentic vs. performative leadership
• Defining leadership in your own way
