Student Activities and Resource Fair (SARF)

The Student Activities and Resource Fair is your chance to meet representatives from hundreds of Registered Student Organizations (RSO) and campus offices who will be available to tell you about what they do and how you can get involved!

This year, we will be utilizing Brazen as a virtual event platform for SARF. You'll be able to explore the available information and opportunities, and participate in 1-on-1 text chats and video calls with representatives from participating organizations, share your background and experience, and get all your questions answered.

Due to limitations of the online platform, we will be dividing SARF into 4 separate events. Events have been organized by RSO categories. Please note that you will need to register to each event separately to get the full experience.

All SARF events will be live on October 2nd ranging from 2:00-5:30 pm Central Time. Below is the schedule and registration links:

Representatives of the organizations will be online to chat during the times listed above. However, if you are not able to attend during the live event, you can leave them a message using the Drop-Off Notes feature.

You will need to create an account and register before you can enter a live event. Note: If you have not logged into the Brazen Control Center before, enter your company email address and click "forgot password."

Step by Step Guide:

  1. Navigate to the Event Landing page
  2. Create an account
  3. Complete your Event Registration form
  4. Enter the event after you register

Step 1: Navigate to the Event Landing page

  • From the event landing page, fill out your first name, last name, email address, and password. This creates your Brazen account. 

Step 2: Complete your Event Registration form once you’re in the event

  • Enter the requested information in the Event Registration form and click "Continue" when you are done. You will be required to fill one out for every event you attend. These forms compile information for your personal profile during an event. Note that if you do this part before the actual event, you can navigate back to the landing page when an event starts and then use the same email address and password and log into the event. 

Step 3: Enter the event after you register

  • You will have an opportunity to see a short instructional slideshow after you complete your registration form. At the end of the slideshow, click "Enter Event" to be taken to the Event Lobby. 

How do I participate in a live event? 

  • Note that there are slightly different steps for participating in a live event, depending on whether you have already registered for the event or not.

Part 1: Entering the event

  • If you have not yet registered for the event:
    1. Navigate to the Event Landing page
    2. Log in to your account
    3. Click to register for the event
    4. Complete your Event Registration form
    5. Enter the live event
  • If you have already registered for the event:
    1. Navigate to the Event Landing page
    2. Log in to your account
    3. Click to enter the live event

Part 2: Participating in the event

  1. Scan the Event Lobby for booths you want to chat in
  2. Set your chat status to "Available"
  3. Enter a booth
  4. Click to chat
  5. Start chatting
  6. Rate and take notes

During your text chat you may also be invited by the Representative to video or audio chat. You will have the option to accept the invitation to begin video or audio chatting or to decline and continue the text chat. 

Accepting an Audio/Video Invitation

  • To engage in a video or audio chat with a representative, enter the booth as you normally would and begin chatting through text. When the representative invites you to an audio or video chat, you’ll see a notification pop up on your screen asking if you’d like to accept or decline the invitation.
  • After accepting the invitation, you’ll receive one more notification prompting you to allow Brazen access to your microphone and camera.
  • Click Allow, and you can begin your audio/video chat with the representative.
  • If either party encounters any connectivity issues that block them from accessing the video or audio chat feature, the video/audio chat invitation will be canceled and the chat will resume as a standard text chat.

You will need to log into an event to edit your registration. 

  • Step 1. Navigate to the Event Landing Page
    • Use the login URL provided in your confirmation email to access the live event. If you have already created an account, you can click to login at the top right of the page.
  • Step 2. Sign Into Your Account
    • You will be prompted to enter your email address and password, and then directed to the event lobby.
  • Step 3. Enter the Event
    • You will be taken to the event lobby after you complete your registration form. You will see a welcome window where you can click "Enter Event" to confirm your attendance for the event.
  • Step 4. Find and Click the Registration Icon
    • When you enter an event you will see a black navigation bar at the top of your page. This navigation bar will always be visible while in an event. This is where you will locate the "Registration" icon. This icon will always take you to the event registration form.
  • Step 5. Edit the Event Registration Form
    • Here you'll be able to edit any of the registration fields. Remember to save any changes before leaving this page or your profile will not be updated.

A Drop-Off Note allows event attendees to send messages to booth representatives outside of an event chat. If you experience long wait times in a certain booth or you able to attend the live event, Drop-Off Notes are a great way to allow attendees to connect with your team without actually chatting.
