Student Government

The Student Government (SG) at the University of Chicago serves as the representative student voice on campus. The purpose of the Student Government is “to further the interests and promote the welfare of the students at the University of Chicago; to foster a University community, and to represent the body more effectively before University authorities and the community at large.”

SG consists of an Executive Committee, the College Council, and the Graduate Council. Any enrolled student is eligible to get involved. There are several opportunities for students to get involved in Student Government. You can choose to either run for an elected position or apply to join one of the many committees and advisory boards managed by SG.
