SOAR is the annual Recognized Student Organization (RSO) training that is required for organizations to maintain recognized status at the University of Chicago. In this training, students will learn about University policies that pertain to the success of their RSOs, meet with their assigned RSO advisor, and understand how their RSO involvement impacts the University and the student body.
SOAR Objectives
- To provide RSO leaders resources and information to help them feel prepared to lead their organization and peers
- To provide opportunities for RSO leaders to interact with their advisor, as well as CLI and university administration
- To provide RSO leaders information and processes of their fiscal responsibility and opportunities
- To provide RSO leaders an overview of important university policies and procedures
All RSOs must attend the training; this includes Sports Clubs, Community Service RSOs, Purple RSOs, Blue RSOs, Green RSOs, Orange RSOs, and Red RSOs.
SOAR Date: Saturday, October 12th, 2024 from 10:00am - 2:00pm CST in Mandel Hall.
Your RSO must send one (1) representative to SOAR, and they should sign up at this form by 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 9th.
- Your representative must be there for the entirety of the training in order to receive credit
- Late arrivals will not be admitted, and your RSO will not receive credit for the training
Due to space limitations, RSOs should send only one (1) representative to SOAR. One person can represent up to two (2) RSOs by attending SOAR Training. Your attendance cannot count for more than two (2) RSOs.
If you are unable to attend, you should contact your RSO advisor immediately.
