
SOAR is the annual Recognized Student Organization (RSO) training that is required for organizations to earn or maintain recognized status at the University of Chicago. In this training, students will: learn University policies that pertain to the success of RSOs, meet with their assigned advisor, and understand how their RSO involvement impacts the University and the student body.
SOAR Objectives
- To provide RSO leaders resources and information to help them feel prepared to lead their organization and peers
- To provide opportunities for RSO leaders to interact with their advisor, as well as CLI and university administration
- To provide RSO leaders information and processes of their fiscal responsibility and opportunities
- To provide RSO leaders an overview of important university policies and procedures
All RSOs classified as the following must attend: Sports Clubs, Community Service RSOs, Purple RSOs, Blue RSOs, Green RSOs, Orange RSOs. *If you are unsure of your RSO classification, log into Blueprint, go to your RSO's 'About' page, and scroll down to 'Advising Model Categorization.'
SOAR Date: Saturday, October 7th, 2023 at 10am CST in Mandel Hall
Your RSO must send one (1) representative to SOAR, and they should sign up at this form by 11:59pm on Wednesday, October 4th.
Due to space limitations, RSOs must send only one (1) representative to SOAR. One person can represent up to two (2) RSOs by attending SOAR Training. Your attendance cannot count for more than two (2) RSOs.
